Missouri conservatives openly defy Jesus Christ

Stand by for bolt of lightning:
A proposed constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to privately pray in public places, including schools, unanimously cleared the Missouri Senate on Tuesday and will appear on the ballot in November 2012.
But see:
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
How come only atheists read the Bible.

Probably because that Jesus guy said some very inconvenient things, like "Don't make a show of praying." It's kinda hard to be holier-than-thou and all if you follow that instruction.

Dostoevsky had it right when he had the Grand Inquisitor sentence Jesus to death and say, "For if anyone has ever deserved our stake, it is you." The idea of Christ is fine with the religious, but that's about it.

Still the greatest novel ever written (even better than Atlas Shrugged).

Of course, there are other contradicting Bible quotes if you want them.

They like these bills because they give the impression that the State is telling them they can't pray. Quite a different beast from saying you want every to pray your selected prayer.
