Puzzled Journal Communications, Inc. is puzzled

Journal Communications, Inc.'s daily organ the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is puzzled as to where Scott Walker got the idea to stomp all over Wisconsin workers' rights to collectively bargain and negotiate the terms of their contracts. "Speculation persists," announces the organ.

Actually, no. As Scott Walker himself explained, it came from Jesus.

Ah, this had ALEC written all over it. They gave Tommy! many of his greatest hits, and they tried to foist TABOR upon us, which (thankfully) failed. I don't know if this is any better.

I wonder if Jesus would recognize Himself.

Maybe he got it from history...

They hate the unions because they are the most effective fight-back organizations left. Without them, we are Georgia, and of course that is the goal. Georgia, btw, has a long progressive streak (see Tom Watson), just as Wisconsin has a long winger tradition. The difference is that we have unions and they don't.

I'm surprised they didn't go for right-to-work. They probably figured the public unions had more muscle, so once one they were hobbled, RTW would just be a footnote.

Perhaps there is a better way for Unions to serve more people!

What an interesting proposal for new and exciting activities for unions.

Tell us more, Anony 1:51.

There's something about your suggestion and the subtlety of its presentation that hints you might be talking about unions setting up bread lines and soup kitchens.

Which might appeal to Mother Hubbard, but would really leave Mother Jones scratchin' her head
