Of course, this latest GOP ambiguity is just business as usual. The Repubs arrange a twofer for themselves: Judge Cheesy Mac orders the GAB to do the GOP's partisan work on the public dime, and the GOP thus gets more time to collect more campaign loot and stall further, even while they complain that recalls chew up too many tax dollars. It may be wholly disingenuous, but it does have a kind of twisted elegance about it.
