Last week Eddie Burke, host of a conservative daily talk show in Anchorage, called rally organizers Charla Sterne and Ilona Bessenyey "socialist, baby-killing maggots," read their phone numbers on the air and encouraged listeners to call them. The women said their voice mail quickly filled with angry, profane messages, some of them threatening.Those wacky, madcap values voters! Always with the japes.
Quite the little jamboree they had up there anyway.

What the hell is it with people threatening other people over opinions?
A part of me hopes the idiots from both sides issuing these threats are really just stupid kids with no political affiliation just being total morons.

I guess I missed the liberal-minded radio hosts who called Republican private citizens maggots, named them on-air, and read out their phone numbers.
You're quite right that stupid crap of some description or other goes on across the spectrum. But this peculiarly extreme stuff -- practically incitement to violence -- does seem more common to the soi-disant values voters to whom iT alludes.
Maybe I just have a confirmation bias for it, though, because moronic rightwing radio screamers disgust me so very, very much...
