Exactly! If a Democrat was governor and faced a recall, you bet his supporters would take advantage of the law. Sleazy, yes, but perfectly legal. It is what it is, so for Democrats to cry foul is hilarious.
But to me the overall point is...who is going to run for the Democrats that legitimately can draw enough support to beat Walker? Because it DOES matter who is the candidate, as well as how much money will be required to beat him. As much as I like Capper, he is totally unrealistic in thinking that the anger is so strong against Walker that people are eager to have him removed regardless of who is his opponent. He is dreaming!
And if Walker does win a recall, what will be Capper's spin?
And the McGuyver story that was planted earlier this week was the tip-off that they'd do this lame exercise.
No matter, throwing money at Walker is a giant waste, and it just succeeds in getting us even more determined (if that's possible). In fact, it sort of proves our point about why we're doing this in the first place- because he's clearly not on th side of clean government and the little guy.
I admit, I love this story. So the Democrats, who want to abuse the recall process to their own ends and are crying foul when the rules are used against them. - Boots and Sabers
Follow the logic. The Democrats, who actually want to recall Walker, are abusing the process, but the dude from Muskego, who doesn't want to recall Walker, is a hero. And this clown is a regular guest on Wisconsin Public Radio? How embarrassing, for everyone.

Here's a question... We all now that the early filing by a Walker supporter opens the unlimited fundraising window early.
ReplyDeleteBut does it also mean that the Democrats' petition-signing window will now be closed earlier, too?
Nope. Dems get until "5 p.m. on the 60th day commencing after registration." Wis. Stat. Sec. 9.10(2)(d). They plan on registering November 15.
