Instant classic. Just add it to the all-time list of blatant non-denials:
"I am not a crook."
"I did not have sex with that woman."
"I feel no need for legal representation."
Archer said nothing about whether any objective or prudent person would seek legal counsel -- nor whether any lawyer would frantically insist she retain legal representation and adhere to advice recieved. Which she obviously already had.
Archer DID say she 'feels no need', a phrasing that suggests she may have no conscience, and really feels no need to defend herself or account for her actions.
The legalistic, Marie Antoinette-ish, PR-crippled response seems to bubble with a sociopathic, above-the-law feel, one that's evasive and haughty at the same time.
Then again, maybe she has some inside knowledge of the destruction of records at the County Exec's Office -- knowledge that there just isn't any incriminating evidence left behind.
