White man's bad decisions with wise Latinas

Republican "Family Values" proponent Mark Sanford, at times crying and unabashedly emotional, acknowledged that he had casual encounters with other women while he was married but before he met Chapur. They took place during trips outside the country to "blow off steam" with male friends.
SC Governor sounding an awful lot like a sex tourist

(At least Rush Limbaugh was single.)

It's tempting to suggest, by way of assessing Gov. Sanford's immediate future, that he could use a vacation. But that's probably not the best idea. Or, in any case, Puerto Plata is right out.

Still, Mark Sanford has got nothing on David Vitter, another conservative "Family Values" Republican from Louisiana. After his extramarital affairs were revealed, the woman hanged herself in a garden shed behind her mother's house in Florida. Yet David Vitter is to this day hanging out in the United States Senate.

Vitter was forgiven, just as conservatives have forgiven Bill Clinton.

  1. Huh? Conservatives have forgiven Clinton of what? Lying, having sex with an employee?
Only thing I will apologize about Bill Clinton is that he wasn't as bad as Obama.

    Nothing, that was my point.

  3. Nuances. Dan has trouble with nuances.

If I remember correctly, Clinton lied about having sex with an intern. Not a very impeachable offense. Besides, I'll bet Dan would lie, too, if asked whether he'd had sex with a younger woman while married to another.

    Huh? That makes no sense.

  4. I think you meant: "the woman hanged herself in a garden shed behind her mother's house in Florida." The verb "hung" when applied to humans usually means something else (and isn't something one says about a woman).

  5. Thanks, fixed. I hadn't even noticed I wrote "hung" until just now, because it was meant to be parallel to Vitter's "hanging out" in the Senate.
