That's why they like the word. <BR/><BR/>Of course, the pedant in me can't resist the <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thuggee" REL="nofollow">history of the word</A>. To me, the word connotes a certain physicality of the criminal acts they commit.
