I don't think we'll hear any more stories about insufficient vetting, or predictions of an Eagleton-like withdrawal.
Separately: The dawning realization that Palin may well be Obama's equal when it comes to speechifying -- his one demonstrable talent -- must shock his supporters to their core.
Well, you can't be wrong unless you make a substantial prediction, so props for taking two swings, even if they were huge whiffs. And there is one thing right in there: At the end of the day, Palin's brand of quitting was a lot more radical than Eagleton's. He only quit a job he didn't have.
