So this is why they oppose Wisconsin's gay couples

Isn't it true that many gays want healthcare coverage without all the attention?
Why should they be different than anyone else in that regard?
Keep it up, right-wingers. This is the person who got the anti-gay marriage amendment on the ballot in Wisconsin in 2006. Even as it won 60-40, there was good evidence it helped the Dems, who made major advances in college towns throughout the state. Nate Silver reckons support for gay marriage is now at a majority nationally and increasing at 2% a year. Young people in Alabama are more in favor than old people in Wisconsin. No future in that.
I do not know of any reason that they should be any different in that regard.
The comments from Mike surprised me because I had no idea that you got that amendment on the ballot in 2006.
do as I say, not as I do.....
John Gard was the prime mover behind that amendment and he is still involved in something that sounds similar to the national group:

If John Gard was the "brains" behind putting the amendment, that proves he's as dumb as people in Madison have told me. Not only did the issue bring out voters in college towns to vote no, costing several GOP seats in the Assembly, it brought out blacks and Reagan Democrats who voted yes, then voted for Jim Doyle. As Jim Sensenbrenner was the first to say, the day after the election, the Republicans outfoxed themselves.
